International Holocaust Remembrance Day
January 27, 2011 held a memorial ceremony marking the 65th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz (Oswiecim) – International Holocaust Remembrance Day. The event was organized by the Citizens Commission on Human Rights and Cultural and educational projects Natalia Urban. The event was attended by Natalia Igorevna Urban, Chairman of the Association of Juvenile ghetto and Nazi camps Semen Isaakovich Spector; expert and human rights activist Sophia Rashitovna Dorinskaya, Chairman of Yekaterinburg "Memorial" Anna Yakovlevna Pastukhov, president of the Urals State Law Academy Victor D. Perevalov; Professor d.yun. Konstantin Levitan and other members of the public in Yekaterinburg. The event was opened Igorevna Natalia Urban, speaking to the crowd with words of welcome. Semen Isaakovich Spector told the guests about his wartime childhood, in particular, held in the ghetto in the USSR: "I was five years old when we were herded into a ghetto. The water in the river near the camp was red from human blood.
I remember a picture – It's called "living well is." This is when a group of Jews are digging holes three meters wide and three long, three meters deep, where they live, and then also buried. I saw a man tied to a tree and egg-beater through it pierce, and those who did so were happy and laughing. " "Today we want to do something really significant, so this will never happen again," – concluded his speech by Spector. Then Ms. Urban read "The Blessing of Aaron" and proceeded to the ceremony of candle lighting in memory of Holocaust victims.
